Summary of the Position:

The MSL supports the medical, marketing, and sales departments in developing regional medical tactics for therapeutic areas/products and maximizes the value proposition through medical and scientific projects, services, and expertise for the benefit of patients in alignment with global and regional strategies. The MSL works independently and in coordination with the national company strategy in their region and network. They are responsible for the concrete implementation of the medical plan and serve as the scientific bridge between external experts and the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying, building, and maintaining scientific collaborative relationships with current and future regional experts and key opinion leaders, key centers, and local collaboration groups, and creating the necessary qualitative and quantitative reports.
  • Building and supporting regional and nationwide networks.
  • Promoting the exchange of medical and scientific information and data between the medical community and the company.
  • Providing balanced scientific data internally and externally.
  • Ensuring up-to-date information from speakers and external experts regarding products and therapeutic areas.
  • Scientific communication about therapeutic principles and products.
  • Implementing and disseminating high-quality complex scientific information, innovative medical teaching materials, and research concepts to external experts, including speaker preparation and slide kit development.
  • Providing medical-scientific support for medications internally and externally.
  • Creating, organizing, and managing regional and national advisory boards, regional expert meetings, and other scientific events and educational symposia at local congresses with key stakeholders.
  • Supporting the national medical strategy.
  • Providing medical support for local and/or international studies and clinical projects (e.g., study protocol, safety).
  • Generating insights and collecting and reporting competitive information from the market and scientific conferences.
  • Developing congress reports/summary slides from major congresses.
  • Ensuring one's own continuing education, being prepared for self-study, and open to training concepts.
  • Supporting external experts in developing concepts and protocols for IITs or other medical projects.
  • Ensuring compliance with GMA, SOPs, GCP, and ICH, compliance policies and procedures, relevant country reports, and legal and ethical standards.
  • Supporting the commercial field force and company customers in presenting clear clinical and scientific information to support therapeutic decisions in patient care.
  • Active participation and professional support at commercial meetings.
  • Supporting internal medical training.
  • Collaborating with marketing and sales to ensure the prioritization of major customers.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications/Experience:
    • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
    • Scientific knowledge in immunology and oncology is very helpful.
    • Documented medical or scientific experience, scientific background.
    • Knowledge in the fields of regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, law, and compliance.
    • A network of customer contacts is helpful.
    • Strong customer orientation, scientifically based and marketing-oriented.
    • Experience or knowledge of the German healthcare system and decision-making in healthcare.
    • Strong project management and medical affairs knowledge.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both scientific and non-scientific.
    • Good English skills.
    • Willingness to travel.
    • Valid driver's license.
    • Strong identification with the company's values and visions.
