Senior Engineer, Automation - Permanent - Research Triangle Park, NC

̽��ϼ� is partnered with a Rare Disease biotech seeking a Senior Automation Engineer as a part of their ongoing growth. This role will manage multiple small-scale projects and continuous improvement initiatives, balancing day-to-day site support with strategic project management.

Skills & Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
6-8 years of experience in process control and automation, preferably in the Life Sciences industry.
Proficiency with Siemens, Rockwell, Wonderware, SQL database management, networking protocols, and server administration.
Experience with validation processes and documentation, including user requirements and functional specs.
Availability for on-call rotations and potential shift coverage.
Familiarity with risks and controls in electrically classified environments.

The Senior Engineer, Automation will:

Develop, implement, and validate process control and automation systems to enhance manufacturing operations.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to establish system requirements and create control system specifications.
Program and configure SCADA platforms, PLCs, and HMIs to support production needs.
Select and specify instrumentation for effective process monitoring and control.
Integrate control systems and devices to ensure smooth communication and operational functionality.
Diagnose and resolve challenges related to control system integration.
Ensure all automation systems meet regulatory compliance standards, including cGMP requirements.
Contribute to validation activities by developing and executing protocols.
Maintain thorough, accurate, and compliant documentation.
Assist quality teams with technical assessments, investigations, and corrective actions.
Identify and implement strategies to optimize processes, increase system reliability, and reduce costs.
Keep up with advancements in technology and industry trends to propose improvements.
Provide timely support for troubleshooting and resolving automation system issues.
Establish and execute preventive maintenance procedures for control systems.
Participate in an on-call rotation and support occasional night shifts as required.
